Do not underestimate the influence of your brain on what you can accomplish. It can generate thoughts that keep you in fear and doubt so you stay where you are and give up on your goals; or, it can be an accelerator of ideas and energy that drive you to accomplish more than you ever thought possible. Thankfully, IT'S UP TO YOU to manage it wisely.
You'll have enough time when you learn how to MANAGE your THOUGHTS about time and think in terms of MEASURABLE RESULTS. Remember: people overestimate what they can accomplish in a day, and grossly underestimate what they can accomplish in a year.
You must STOP thinking that the circumstances in your life create your feelings. Your thoughts about those circumstances, and YOUR THOUGHTS ALONE, create your feelings. When you INTENTIONALLY QUARTERBACK YOUR LIFE, an amazing TRANSFORMATION takes place. You find yourself assigning meanings to circumstances that move you forward rather than hold you back. You stop trying to change the circumstance, but instead, use that energy TO TAKE ACTION to accomplish your goals. You keep throwing the ball down field.
Procrastination is another POWERFUL defensive player you face everyday. Procrastination puts you on the bench and causes you to miss opportunities. When you procrastinate, YOU ARE WALKING OFF THE PLAYING FIELD. Can you imagine TOM BRADY walking off the football field when things got tough?
When you QUARTERBACK YOUR LIFE intentionally, YOU put PROCRASTINATION on the bench and yourself back in the game, to execute the plays in your playbook, to manage the game, to keep throwing the ball down field. To score touchdowns in life YOU NEED TO BE ON THE FIELD AND IN THE GAME!
By making what "others are doing" your guide for acting, you abdicate responsibility for your life, you ignore YOUR playbook and you put others in control of how you live!
NFL Quarterbacks don't look to see what other quarterbacks are doing to determine what they need to do, or how to execute the plays in their playbook. Quarterbacks are leaders, they focus on their own playbook and run the plays designed for them to succeed. They trust themselves.
When you intentionally Quarterback your life, YOU develop the PLAYBOOK, you use your offensive resources to design YOUR GAME PLAN, you anticipate DEFENSES, call the plays, throw ball and and ultimately SCORE the touchdowns necessary to get you where you want to go. If adjustments need to be made along the way, you make them. If you need advice or guidance, you get it. YOU DO THE WORK that NEEDS to be done. NO EXCUSES anymore.
YOUR UNMANAGED MIND will always try to disempower you with this thought if you are over 50 and want to change your life.
When you INTENTIONALLY QUARTERBACK YOUR LIFE, you replace negative thoughts like this one, with thoughts that focus on your life skills, your wisdom, your successes, your strengths, your comebacks, and all you have to offer the world! Which is alot. Learning to manage your mind and intentionally quarterback your life, will generate feelings that will drive you to take action. DON'T GIVE UP.
You can ALWAYS make any circumstance mean something that serves you rather than something that keeps you stuck. It's your choice, and I am here to help you make choices that will get you the RESULTS you want.
Most people have no idea what they want in life, or where they want their life to be in five, ten or 15 years This makes it impossible for them to know what resources they need to get anywhere. If you don't make the time to evaluate where you want your life to be, and create the playbook and design plays to get there, don't expect your life to change anytime soon.
Let's not fool ourselves. We all are playing the game of life every waking minute of every day. Some more intentionally than others. The question for YOU is: ARE YOU GOING TO QUARTERBACK you life INTENTIONALLY? Are you willing to do the work to MANAGE YOUR MIND?
